Annotation |
As a child, the author's world was shattered when one hot summer day her mother drove off without explanation, abandoning her family. Thirty-five years later, with children of her own, she gets a call that her mother is dying and that this is her last chance to see her. But when she arrives, her mother is too ill to recognize her own daughter, let alone explain her actions. Just as she has given up hope of ever getting closure, she stumbles across a collection of letters that her mother wrote to her but never mailed letters that could provide answers and a path towards forgiveness. Adult.
